  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp Sicilian seasoning mix (oregano, basil, red pepper flakes)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a pan, sauté diced onions in olive oil until soft and translucent.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onions, breadcrumbs, parsley, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, eggs, salt, pepper, and Sicilian seasoning. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Form the mixture into a loaf shape on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  5. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for 60-75 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
