- 12–14 lbs whole turkey
- 1 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- Zest and juice of 2 fresh oranges
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried thyme (or 1 tbsp fresh)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Remove giblets from the turkey cavity, rinse under cool water, and pat dry.
- In a bowl, mix cranberry sauce, orange juice and zest, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Place turkey breast-side up in a roasting pan. Generously brush glaze all over the turkey and reserve some for basting.
- Roast uncovered for about 13-15 minutes per pound, basting every 30-45 minutes with reserved glaze.
- Check doneness with a meat thermometer; it should read 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.
- Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
