  • 2 large sweet onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the chuck roast in oil until browned on all sides (about 4–5 minutes per side).
  3. Transfer the seared roast to a slow cooker. In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until golden brown (about 3 minutes).
  4. In a bowl, mix beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Pour over the roast in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the beef is tender.
  6. Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred using two forks. Serve with juices or on buns.
