- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
- Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans before transferring to wire racks.
- Prepare the chocolate pudding according to package directions and chill.
- For ganache frosting, heat heavy cream until just below boiling; pour over chocolate chips and stir until melted and smooth.
- Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the chilled pudding on top and place the second layer on top. Frost the entire cake with ganache.
